My sex conference gig; my CNET News interview; my…

Sex in Video Games Conference.Yep, it’s aaaalll about me. Seriously though, a few items of note to boast about. Firstly, I was happy to learn a few days ago that I was invited to be a part of the Sex in Video Games Conference 2006: Exploring the Business of Digital Erotic Entertainment. Yeah, I could definitely dig that. The conference is set for June 8-9 in San Francisco, Calif.

As far as my formal involvement, I’m scheduled to be a panelist for one of the eight organized discussions that will take place during the event. My particular panel is called Pleasing the Player: What Emergent Sex Can Teach the Developer. Members will include Phoenix Linden of Linden Lab (creators of Second Life), as well as Andrea Fryer and Kyle Machulis. And in case you’re looking for my own picture and bio on the site, I still must submit them.

As far as the conference overall, the place will be crawling with movers and shakers, sex-tech masterminds, attorneys, great bloggers, sexy mamas — and many are slated to give lectures and take part in the panels. Some highlights: well-known blogger, sex educator and author Violet Blue (Yum. I may in fact try to buy her a drink as a gesture of admiration, but I’m afraid she may smack me one — and enjoy it, since she doesn’t know me), author and Wired News writer Regina Lynn, International Game Developers Association Sexuality Special Interest Group founder and chairwoman Brenda Brathwaite, etc. etc.

So, you get my point. I’ll be in very good company over the two days. And I’ll probably be attending most or all of the panel discussions and lectures, as they all promise to be highly interesting. View the complete list here. And here’s a list of all the speakers.

In other news, I was interviewed today by a CNET News reporter. How cool? I’ll post the link as soon as the story is published. Oh yeah, and I had a pleasant surprise this morning when I learned that brand-new blog 3pointD.com had covered some thoughts that I recently blogged regarding photorealism in Second Life. 3pointD.com’s Mark Wallace also tossed in some interesting commentary of his own. My initial posts on the topic are here and here.

Actually, I’m no longer moderating that panel, I’m on it with you now! We’re shuffling things again since we’ve got a new speaker.

Congrats on the CNET press, looks like you’re rising into the world of internet fame! The glitz and glamour of webpage celebrity can be yours! ^_^

Hi there, Mark (aka Walker Spaight). Thanks very much for your post. And yes, I am looking forward to meeting Kyle (aka qDot). Would be cool if you and I crossed paths one day, as well.
